GPhC (The General Pharmaceutical Council Exam):

For an Indian pharmacist to register and practice as a pharmacist in the United Kingdom, they typically need to follow a process that involves several steps, including evaluation of education, examinations, and licensure. Here’s a brief overview:

Eligibility:

You must have a pharmacy degree that is recognized by the GPhC. Indian pharmacy degrees are typically recognized, but you may need to confirm this with the GPhC.

English Language Proficiency:

You’ll need to demonstrate proficiency in the English language by passing an approved English language test, such as the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) or the Occupational English Test (OET).

OSPAP:

Once you’ve met the eligibility criteria, you can apply for the OSPAP. This program consists of academic study and practical training designed to familiarize you with UK pharmacy practice standards and regulations.

Assessment:

After completing the OSPAP, you’ll need to pass the GPhC registration assessment. This assessment evaluates your knowledge and skills related to pharmacy practice in the UK.

Registration:

Upon successful completion of the assessment, you’ll be eligible to apply for registration as a pharmacist with the GPhC. Once registered, you can legally practice as a pharmacist in the UK.
